Almost always the beatdown, because the deck loses every game that goes long by default.
Most decks decide their role per matchup. This one has its role decided by Temporary, and the deck is the aggressor by default in every matchup where it is not actively losing on board.
Their answers cost more than your threats and your threats cost no cards at all. Widen into turns where they are low on Energy, take points early, and accept that a game reaching their late game is a game already lost.
Their board improves every turn and yours resets every turn. The Sprite plan is faster in the first four turns and worse in every turn after that, so the correct line is usually the greedy-looking one.
Do not beat the big unit. Conquer the two battlefields it is not standing on. Master Yi at 8% of the August 2026 archetype slice is the clearest version of this and Section 13 covers it directly.
gives every enemy unit -3 Might for the turn, to a minimum of 1, and against a board of small units that is close to a sweeper. This is also the only role in which is ever correct.
