Legend & Chosen Champion

A passive Legend with a real positional cost, and a Champion that guarantees every hand a four-Energy unit.

The Legend

Wuju Bladesman is passive, but its positional cost is real. Every time you add a second unit to the defended battlefield, weigh the new unit against the lost two Might, the lost Poro Deathknell where relevant, the lost ability to contest another battlefield, and the information you give away by committing.

Pilot noteThe best turns do not protect the same unit forever. They repeatedly produce a lone defender that is inconvenient to attack.

Master Yi, Tempered

Tempered is the consistency anchor. Because it starts in the Champion Zone it cannot be stranded at the bottom of the deck, it gives every hand a four-Energy unit, hand attacks cannot take it before it is played, and you never have to keep a five-drop purely to guarantee a middle game. Once played it behaves like any other unit, and this list has no reliable way to get it back from the trash.

Play it on curve when it can immediately contest or Hold, you can still leave a useful reaction, the opponent has already committed to a location, and its first Hunt trigger is realistic. Delay it when a two-drop plus interaction scores more efficiently, when should come first, when playing it would consume the Power that protects it, when they can simply move it, or when produces a better swing.

Tempered defending alone = 4 printed + 2 Legend = 6 Might before any card

Level six

Ganking turns Tempered from a static defender into a flexible closer. The important use is not moving into every fight: let Yi absorb resources at one battlefield, let the opponent weaken or abandon the other, then move Yi across and replace the original defender with or another body.

Rules noteGain the sixth XP before exposing Tempered to the targeting or movement window that matters, not after.

No alternate champion

The sideboard contains no second Chosen Champion, and that simplifies things: Champion-specific sequencing never changes, the XP plan stays intact, and every matchup keeps access to a protected four-Energy unit.
