Battlefield Roles

Star Spring rotates defenders, Seat of Power rewards a Hold you already have, Emperor’s Dais reuses play effects.

Star Spring, defender rotation

The first non-token unit each player plays there each turn may move another friendly unit there to base. That replaces an exhausted defender with a fresh one, removes an exposed high-value unit, lets or be replayed later, and prevents two important units from staying committed to the same place.◆src

Rules notePlay a new unit there, return the original: the new unit is alone, so the Legend applies, and the old defender is safe at base. That is rotation, not reinforcement.

Seat of Power, play first

When conquered it draws one card for each other battlefield you control. Establish the first Hold elsewhere, attack Seat with a separate unit, and force them to choose between breaking the existing Hold and stopping the Seat conquest.◆src

Emperor’s Dais, play second

After conquering you may pay one Energy, return one of your units there to hand, and play a two-Might token in its place. returns and can Ambush again; returns and can generate another ready; returns and can create another permanent buff.◆src

Returning protects her from removal and preserves a late engine, but it gives up accumulated temporary Might and asks for another five Energy. Do it only when the token plus the future replay is worth more than keeping her developed.

Dais token defending alone = 2 printed + 2 Legend = 4 Might, while the premium unit is safe in hand
