Part 1 of 4 · Learn the game

What are you trying to do?

Win places on the table. Keep them. That is the whole game.

In the middle of the table there are places called battlefields. Think of them like flags in a game of capture the flag.

You send your creatures to a battlefield. If your creatures are there and nobody has pushed them off, you score points for holding it.

Three steps

  1. 1Send your creatures to a battlefield.
  2. 2Fight off anyone who comes to take it.
  3. 3Still there when your next turn starts? You score.

Your friend is doing exactly the same thing. Most of the game is deciding which place to fight for, and which one to let go.

You need eight points to win.

That is not very many. Each battlefield you are holding when your turn starts gives you one point, so holding two places gives you two points a turn. A few good turns is the whole game.
